A Moments! with
Nicolas Tourte

Nicolas Tourte,
Born in 1977, lives and works in Lille.
He is a motion designer and sculptor artist. It belongs to the current "Mixed Media Art".
Through his videos projected on objects borrowed from our daily lives: a book, umbrellas, a suitcase, Nicolas Tourte takes us into his universe between the real and the virtual.
The theme of water adapts wonderfully to Nicolas's sound and sculptural installations. This cyclical and repetitive fluidity catches our eye and makes us almost contemplative.
Nicolas Tourte is a graduate of Fine Arts in Valenciennes and works in various mediums such as video, photography, drawing, sculpture or installation.

The moment it all start?
If I go back in time, according to my memory, it would be a child's drawing: a tepee. I have the clear memory of this first projection, this first trance during its development.
The moment you discover an artist who inspired you?
Stroll through a "digital art circuit" and see The Tenth Sentiment by Kuwakubo Ryota.
The memorable moment of your career?
My first artist residency, where everything became possible.
The perfect moment to create?
An atypical place, an architecture marked by a history and the possibility of getting out of time.
The most inspiring cultural moment?
Walk a relatively average exposure and discover a pearl in the middle of a feeling of "already seen", be surprised.
The moment you dream of?
The total symbiosis between man and his environment.
